What?! Two back-to-back posts? Unheard of! I suppose the energy of the city has got me motivated.
Yesterday, after some unexpected challenges and a chilly wind, we wrapped day one of our film shoot and celebrated in the bar below our location, Bobo. In the basement of the building on the corner of 10th Street and 7th Avenue, Bobo is a classy bar and restaurant with an artsy interior – a candelier made up of antique lightbulbs in a rusted metal basket lit with a few dim incandescent bulbs hangs above the front table. The restroom did not disappoint; it had the same simple grace of the dining room. From floor to ceiling, the room was quaint and styled so that it appeared to have been thoughtfully decorated by someone who goes antiquing on the weekends. The bathroom is under the stairs, so the ceiling is angled over the commode. The floor has a vintage-looking tile. The sink and faucet introduce simple country to urban sophisticate, and I really like the size of simple solid countertop underneath. The cabinet knobs have sweet little flowers on their faces, and the beveled mirror is the perfect finishing touch for the room.
The bathroom was clean and easy to get to (no stairs or twisting hallways like many bars) and delightfully appointed – thank you Bobo!
