Roost in Northampton is another hipster paradise and the bathroom is peppered with a bunch of unique touches.  Love the eyelashes and features on the emergency lights.  Someone carved “HEY BABY” into the wooden baby changing station which I thought was  kind of sweet as graffiti goes.  Great rustic vibe with wood and rust, clean…a nice place to refresh.  Strange insertion of the end of a wine bottle into the wall over the door.  I checked the other side hoping for the front end of the bottle or, even better, some kind of surprise jutting out.  To my disappointment, it was just another bottle end.  I asked the cashier if he knew what that was about, but he didn’t.

In the alcove where the two bathrooms are located is a cool wooden chair and tons of ads and business cards tacked to the bulletin boards…lots of photographers offering their services, and also a queer lawn-care company.  We’re in the happy valley, people.

About amyontheotherside

I've always been attentive to the public restrooms I've used...the good, the bad and the ugly! They all have their uniqueness and charms. I explore these on my blog, "From in the Can". In the rest of my life (outside of the bathroom) I have just moved from NYC to Virginia and am chronicling the experience in the "Experiment in a New Life" blog.
